In what must be one of the busiest nights for social media in Estonia, a staggering 29,700 people have liked a page on Facebook set up to support skier Andrus Veerpalu. A graph below shows the likes currently being received and will be updated every so often.

It is truly staggering how many people have been motivated to either like the page or post on it, and the likes have no signs of slowing down, despite the fact it is after 1am in Estonia. It is also a tribute to a man who can only be considered a sporting giant, and for all this talk of social networking and online stats, it is important to think of the man who inspired it all
